Hey Look! Our Friends are Blogging!

Dan “Soupy” Campbell of The Wonder Years [one of our favorite bands in recent years] has begun blogging for AMP magazine. Though we’re seriously jealous that they got him before we did, we still want to share the love. Here’s an excerpt from Soupy’s blog.

Here’s an excerpt:

“AMP is about music and so I chose an issue that’s assailing the “scene” right now. I see a lot of talk about this “Crunkcore” wave, and it’d be really easy to run my mouth (or, I suppose, fingers) about these bands and this “genre.” There are plenty of things to attack, but honestly, it’s time someone gave credit where credit is due. These kids figured it out. I can picture it now. Four kids are sitting in a room talking about how dope it would be to be in a band, but, oh no, there’s a problem; none of them play instruments or can sing. Now, most people would say “fuck it,” crack open a PBR or something and keep playing x-box, but a few groups of brave young men and women said to the world, “No! No, I will not just walk away. I will not adhere to the logical concept that making music requires musical talent. I will find a way!”
