If you have been missing scene staple The Starting Line, your saviors have arrived. The Dangerous Summer’s new record, Reach for the Sun brings a similar laid back take to pop rock/punk that TSL did on their last two records, but with something that makes them truly unique. Picture a 75 degree summer day in the midwest while you drive through countries and towns with the windows down and your summer crush on your arm: That’s what Reach For The Sun encapsulates over the course of 11 tracks. The album opener, “Where I Want To Be,” is laced with everything it takes to not only be a scene anthem, but a top 40 hit as well. Even today, as the last chunks of snow begin to finally melt away in Michigan, The Dangerous Summer’s new album fills us with hope for the greatest summer of our lives and with records like this, it no doubt will be.
