Lupe Fiasco to climb Mount Kilimanjaro

I was doing my usual hip-hop research and I came accross this article about Lupe Fiasco getting ready to climb Mount Kilimanjaro: 2zzrhqfjpg

How cool is this? Lupe Fiasco will climb Tanzania’s Mount Kilimanjaro in an effort to raise awareness about the global water epidemic. Ethiopian-American singer Kenna solicited Fiasco for the campaign.

“My dad almost died as a child from waterborne diseases in Ethiopia,” said Kenna in a recent interview with Elle magazine, “and he had talked to me about digging a well there, and I thought, ‘I have too many friends who would be concerned with the subject of clean water. Maybe I can help out.’”

Self-proclaimed “adventure junkie” Lupe Fiasco joked that he’s more interested in beating Kenna to the feat. “Part of the motivation is beating Kenna to the top,” explained Fiasco. “Sabotaging his tent, taking the lining out of his coat, lacing it with ants or something like that.”

Pretty sweet huh?
