Harlem, New York rapper Murda Mook has inked a recording deal with Ruff Ryders Entertainment, the label famous for introducing a number of superstar rappers.
Mook announced the signing in a viral video circulating on the internet.
In the video Mook talks about the rap game today, claiming that many artists don’t have the “swag, lyrics and music” as he does.

The rapper also said, “I’m taking it back to where it’s supposed to be. As far as the Double R movement, n***a been quiet for a little while, but they just found me.”

Mook said he could not disclose the details of the deal, but claimed that “the Ruff Ryders have the best set up in the world.”

Known for his battle rapping on Smack DVD, Murda Mook has gone against rappers such as Sirius Jones and Jae Millz.

Ruff Ryders Entertainment was founded by Dee, Waah and Chevon Devon Dean and have released albums from the likes of DMX, Swizz Beatz, The LOX and Eve, among others.

With or without DMX, it looks like Double R is looking to make a statement this year. Obviously they want to tell the industry that they haven’t completely crumbled and are here to stay…but we’ll have to wait and see for how long they are here to stay!
