Save DITR Promotions and MIDWEST FEST!

DITR Promotions is in need of some financial help. Please read the message below and support those who make having a scene possible. These are great people who care about nothing, but bringing you great music. Please help them:

Hello everyone.
Thanks to those of you who came out to Midwest Fest 2009, and sorry to those who came out and realized a few bands had canceled. The bands who canceled were not necessarily a decision of the band directly. In the case of Times New Viking and Margot & the Nuclear So & So’s, the decision came from their camps to not play in an effort to A) avoid them losing money and B) keep Midwest Fest from losing any more money. I really apologize for those who did drive here only to find out some bands had canceled. Refunds were given, but that doesn’t make up for missing a show you’d planned on attending.

Midwest Fest 2009 wasn’t a complete failure. Sure, attendance was pretty bad for the whole week, I’m not going to lie about that. A lot of effort was put into the festival and it really didn’t do nearly what we had expected. That sucks, yadda yadda.

The pressing issue is though, that DITR Promotions has lost quite a bit of money from this year’s Midwest Fest. Operating the way we do, we don’t ever have money laying around to just cover a bad show. In the 2 years DITR Promotions has been around, we have made sure that almost 100% of that money has gone back to the bands that play our shows. What little bit we do keep goes towards making improvements, like updating our website design, getting better posters made, buying new PA equipment so we can have shows at even more venues, etc.

The sad truth is we need to make this money back ASAP to avoid having to cut the number of shows we do. DITR Promotions really likes providing quality entertainment for the people of Mid-Michigan on a weekly basis. That number of shows will be considerably cut back unless we can figure something out to get this debt taken care of.

So, what we have done is set up a donation link on our webstore, you can donate as much or as little as you like by clicking here: http://bit.ly/xYWa9
You can also donate directly via PayPal by sending money to ditrpromotions@gmail.com
Finally, you can send cash in the mail, email me at corey@ditrpromotions.com for the address.

I’m offering an incentive to those who do donate, as if supporting your local music scene wasn’t enough of a reason to help out:
For those who donate between $10 and $29, you get into 1 upcoming DITR show for free. For those who donate between $30 and $49, you get into 5 shows for free. And for those who donate $50 or more, you get into 10 shows for free. Not bad, eh?
