Tired of Curt Cobain’s portrayal in Guitar Hero? Try something with more substance: the book Grunge, written by Thurston Moore of Sonic Youth. It’s a photo book with photos by photographer Michael Lavine that chronicles the late 80’s/early 90’s punk scene in Seattle.

“… the discovery of Seattle punk youth, the seminal bands that defined the movement, the exploitation of the subculture, and the backlash of grunge, as well as the death of his longtime collaborator and intimate Cobain,” reads the Abrams Books description of the book.
