Panda Bear discusses New Album

In an interview with Pedestrian.tv, the man known as Panda Bear talked about his new solo album in a not-completely-concrete way. But still, new Panda Bear album info is new Panda Bear album info. And given that the Animal Collective member’s last solo album was our ninth favorite album of the decade, we’re excited.

Talking about the record– which will not be as sample-heavy as his previous work– he said, “The rhythms are really basic and kind of raw and simple and are electronic. It’s not live instrumentation, I’ve been playing guitar but I feed it through the same thing that the sequences are on. It’s a very electronic sound and very voice heavy. A simple arrangement of drums, the guitar and singing. Really there are only two or three elements to every song. It’s pretty raw sounding for better for worse. The tone is a lot darker and it sounds sort of dramatic or romantic to me.”

Panda Bear plays three solo shows in Europe in January, and then hits the Primavera Sound Festival in Barcelona in May. Check here for those dates.
