Kid Cudi raps over Vampire Weekend

He’s already collaborated with MGMT and Ratatat and big-upped Band of Horses, so it’s no surprise to find even more evidence that Cleveland upstart rapper Kid Cudi is an indie rock head, on his new track “Cudderisback”.

There’s still a pleasant frisson to hearing Cudi rapping over the skeletal intro to “Ottoman”, Vampire Weekend’s baroque power pop jam from the Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist soundtrack, if only because we never expected to hear anyone tell haters to suck their balls on a Vampire Weekend song. (Not that Ezra Koenig wouldn’t appreciate the sentiment.)

Head over to Hypebeast to cop the download. Thanks to Jordan Landry Graves and Dennis McNamara for the tip.
