Green Day Announce Rock Band Game in 2010

Courtesy of Alternative Press:

Harmonix and MTV Games have revealed plans to release a Green Day version of Rock Band next year. Green Day confirmed that they’re planning a game at Spike TV’s Video Game Awards. The collaboration has been rumored to be in the works since this past June when Green Day announced it during a radio interview.

Green Day: Rock Band will feature avatars of each member of the band along with the ability to export all of the tracks from the game to Rock Band and Rock Band 2. Harmonix Music Systems co-founder Alex Rigopulos said, “”This game will feel like a natural extension of Green Day and their music that will deepen the fans’ connection to the band and their history. Fans will be able to enjoy some of the greatest songs from the Green Day catalogue in this standalone game or via Rock Band due to full export capability. We are thrilled to work with Green Day to revisit key moments from their career, including their likenesses, content and imagery, through our innovative form of musical interaction.”

  1. ‘When I Come Around’…can I pre-order it? It feels like it’s taking forever for this game to come out. Playing air guitar as we speak. :)
