The Dear and Departed new EP available now

THE DEAR & DEPARTED
“Chapters” EP Available Now
US Tour With Alkaline Trio In February
UK Tour With AFI In April

JAN 6 – The Dear & Departed’s 5- song digital EP, Chapters, is available now. Produced by New Found Glory guitarist, Chad Gilbert, and engineered by Paul Miner (New Found Glory, H2O, Atreyu), Chapters offers “a fresh twist on a classic 80’s English sound we all have a soft spot for,” describes Gilbert.

Compared to their debut release,
Something Quite Peculiar (2007), vocalist Dan Smith says, “recording this time felt more right than it ever has. There was no pressure, just excitement.” Some of that excitement during the recording process was captured on TLC’s hit show, LA Ink, on which Smith is a member of, having been a tattoo artist for over 7 years. Fans got a sneak peak into the recording when the show’s star, Kat Von D, visited The Dear & Departed in the studio on the episode which aired in September.

Smith will be taking a short hiatus from the show while the band tours in support of the new album. The band – Smith (vocals), Cortney Miner (guitar), Darren Parkinson (guitar), Keath Moon (bass) and Jimmy Walsh (drums) – will share the stage with Alkaline Trio and Cursive in February and March, then with AFI in the UK for a string of dates in April.
