Review: Aziz Ansari – Intimate Moments For A Sensual Evening

Artist: Aziz Ansari
Album: Intimate Moments For A Sensual Evening
Genre: Stand-up Comedy
Label: Warner Bros.

Whether you’re a fan of Human Giant, Scrubs, Parks and Recreation, Funny People, or any of his other work, you had to know a day would come when Aziz Ansari put on a comedy special. The young comic has been hailed by all walks of life from blog geeks like myself to national press over the past few years, now, after getting his footing on the road over the past few years, Aziz Ansari is releasing his first comedy album [and special], Intimate Moments For a Sensual Evening.

Anyone unfamiliar with Ansari’s work on Human Giant may be a bit surprised by the often absurd and off the wall stories Ansari shares over the course of his special. From people overreacting to the sniffles, to being the awkward adult alone at a dinosaur exhibition, and even spilling the hilarious details of an evening with Kanye West, Ansari delivers his jokes with a since that he could be everyone’s best friend and even when he gets way off track or obscene, the audience hangs on every word. This is the place for Ansari to let loose the ideas that fit no where else in his already busy schedule and thank whatever higher power you will that he found stand up, because these are hilarious jokes/stories that everyone should hear.

Though some of his more mainstream fans may be taken back by his [at times] lewd stage presence, Aziz Ansari’s Intimate Moments for a Sensual Evening is exactly what fans have been waiting to hear. It’s off the wall, absurd, obscure comedy viewpoints that will keep you coming back again and again. A must for any comedy fan.

Score: 9/10
