OTEP nominated for GLAAD Award/Announce U.S. Tour

Heavy metal frontwoman Otep Shamaya has been nominated for Outstanding Music Artist in the 21st Annual Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation (GLAAD) Media Awards. An outspoken advocate of gay rights, Otep serves as a key figure in the movement to promote fair, accurate, and inclusive representation of people and events in the media as a means of eliminating homophobia and discrimination based on gender identity and sexual orientation.

Otep will soon be decimating the nation on the Rise Rebel Resist Tour alongside Victory Records label mates Bury Your Dead and Destrophy with special guests Through The Eyes Of The Dead promoting their fourth full-length studio album. Smash The Control Machine sold around 10,400 copies in the United States in its first week of release to debut at position No. 47 on The Billboard 200 chart. The album has sold 40,000 copies to date.
