Elect the Dead Symphony on iTunes today, Serj issues special message to fans

Today marks the iTunes release of Serj Tankian’s Elect the Dead Symphony. On March 16th, 2009, the Grammy Award winner and one of rock’s most unconventional front men, took the stage at the majestic Auckland Town Hall in New Zealand with the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra to perform a very special orchestral interpretation of his critically acclaimed debut solo album Elect the Dead. The dynamic one-off performance was recorded and filmed in HD by six cameras, and the dramatic result has been captured in Elect the Dead Symphony.

To commemorate today’s release Serj has issued a very special message to his fans:

Hello Friends,

Today is a great day as I can now share with you all the songs from the Elect The Dead Symphony on iTunes. Not only that, but Elect The Dead Symphony is an iTunes LP, which means you get an interactive experience with the album that we created just for you. Besides the audio tracks, we have exclusive artwork and pictures from that magical night, a behind the scenes video at our rehearsals, lyrics and more.

The CD/DVD edition of Elect the Dead Symphony is available March 9th.
