Lil Wayne Launches Prison Website

While Lil Wayne serves a year-long prison sentence for gun possession, his team has launched a new website called Weezy Thanx You to keep him connected to his fans, MTV reports. Wayne uses his first update as a thank you, including responses to a few specific folks who wrote him letters.

In that update, Wayne also claims that he’ll soon restart his ESPN blog (“thank you espn for not letting my passion for sports perish”), talks about missing his kids, claims that he’s “in good spirits man, for real”, and blasts the critics who “aborted” his album Rebirth. (Ahem.) He also makes a promise about future updates: “Each week I’ll answer as many questions as I possibly can.”

On the site, you’ll find Wayne’s mailing address in prison, a clock counting down to his projected release (215 days right now), and a store selling Free Weezy T-shirts for $29.99, which should serve his commissary well. Update your Google Reader accordingly.
