CHEAP GIRLS/THE MENZINGERS TOUR

CHEAP GIRLS, Paper + Plastick’s resident power-pop trio, recently announced a month’s worth of tour dates, which include two weeks with up-and-comers The Menzingers. On a recent West Coast tour, the band stopped by the Hurley office to record a mini-set for Hurley.com, which will be featuring a different live performance each day next week, with “Ft. Lauderdale” premiering today: http://www.hurley.com/index.cfm/aid/40159/LIVE-IN-THE-HURLEY-STUDIO

The band has been chugging across the country in support of their 2009 sophomore album My Roaring 20’s, the follow up to their debut, Find Me A Drink Home, which was re-pressed on Paper+ Plastick in 2009. “My Roaring 20’s… feels like a Breakfast Club for overeducated, irresolute slackers – hardly an uncommon malady for one’s early 20’s,” says ALTERNATIVE PRESS, who recently named the band in their 100 Bands You Need To Know. AltPress.com recently premiered the video for the single “Ft. Lauderdale,” which can be seen here: http://altpress.com/features/cheapgirlsvid.htm.

Recorded with hometown producer Rick Johnson (of Mustard Plug and Bomb The Music Industry), My Roaring 20’s finds Cheap Girls building on their 90’s influenced power-pop, creating jangly, fuzzed out odes to slackers, friends, girls, pot-heads, and the struggles of a person’s mid-20s.
