The world is officially a sadder place.

According to a report from E! comedian Greg Giraldo died today following an accidental overdose of prescription medication. He was 44 years old.

Having built a loyal fan base touring comedy clubs, Giraldo rose to fame in recent years given his repeat appearances on Comedy Central and the release of multiple comedy albums. He was also known as a judge on the most recent season of Last Comic Standing.

Rest in peace Greg, you brought joy to each and every member on the UTG staff and we will miss you greatly. Our thoughts and prayers are with your family.
