It has been in limbo for years, but word on the street is an official Fraggle Rock movie is on the way sooner than later. What’s even more surprising, Jake Shears and Babydaddy of Scissor Sisters have been tapped to write the music!
This news came in a rather backwards fashion earlier this week, as Music Week broke news about the Scissor Sisters writing before any official word had been given on the film! Hoodwinked writer Cory Edwards had been attached to the project in the past with Weinstein Company, but left in hopes of doing an edgier project almost a year ago and left the film relatively stalled, until now.
Unfortunately, no further details have been released as to the film’s progress, cast, release date, or even if it is still with the Weinsteins. All we know is that one of the world’s best dance-pop bands are writing the music and that, for us, is enough to sell at least a couple tickets.
