“Wet Hot American Summer” cast want sequel as well

Following yesterday’s post about David Wain’s interest in making a sequel to Wet Hot American Summer, Entertainment Weekly is reporting much of the film’s original cast is interested in the project as well.

According to the article, Paul Rudd and Elizabeth Banks, both initially seen as hurdles to a sequel given their massive popularity (and cost), have both commented they would do a sequel for “essentially nothing.” Furthering the excitement amongst fans, co-stars Janeane Garofalo, David Hyde Pierce, and Christopher Meloni have also expressed high levels of interest in the project.

While this is all great news, there is still no comment from Bradley Cooper or Amy Poehler, both of whom could carry a lofty price tag and impossible schedules, as well as the fact Universal owns the rights to the film and hasn’t exactly been looking to spend money funding another.

We will keep you updated as this story develops.
