MOVIE TRAILER: Jack And Jill (starring Adam Sandler)

Maybe it is because I grew up on films like Happy Gilmore and The Waterboy, but something about Adam Sandler’s recent contributions to film have felt rather lazy. Aside from impressively dramatic turns in Punch Drunk Love and Funny People, Sandler has been spoon feeding us lowbrow comedy in heaping spoonfuls and his latest doesn’t look much better.

Directed by Dennis Dugan (Just Go With It, Happy Gilmore), Jack And Jill follows a brother (Sandler) who becomes burdened with his twin sister from the Bronx (also played by Sandler) after she visits in LA and “just won’t leave.”

Maybe this will appeal to some of you, but to me it looks like Sandler is going further and further down the Eddie Murphy rabbit hole of lackluster comedy. Please Adam, slow down film productions, read a few more scripts, and think carefully before accepting more multi-million dollar checks. You are a comedy legend, but that doesn’t mean you can’t tarnish your reputation.

Jack And Jill opens November 11.
