James Shotwell Destroy Rebuild Until God Shows frontman Craig Owens is tired of talking about himself. After years of touring on his various projects, including near-daily interviews on this Summer’s Warped tour, Owens is ready to talk about someone else – you.
Owens has announced a contest via his personal Tumblr seeking the best fan expressions of self. You can read the full details below:
It’s time to switch roles for a moment.. I spend my life sharing different pieces of my soul with each and every one of you, through my music, touring, meet / greets, etc. Now it’s time to see what YOU can do..
What I want: I want you to send me your BEST poem, drawing, way that YOU express YOURself. Show me what you do use as your therapeutic outlet.
Each day I will post on my tumblr my favorite poem, picture, video, review of a record or movie, or whatever it is that you choose to send in.. (whatever) means the most to YOU.
The winner of each day will be reposted, and automatically put into the drawing for the GRAND PRIZE. For this, I will take you to lunch the next time that I come through your city, for a REAL conversation, and some good grub. Also, I will personally play for you whatever 3 songs that YOU choose me to play.
I am setting up a PO Box so that mail submissions will be possible, but in the meantime… I’ll be taking any hand written letters received at Warped Tour, or via email – circusbooking@yahoo.com. This contest begins tomorrow and ends on September 1st. So you have some time to dive in, and make this REAL, GENUINE, and most of all.. YOU.
