Missy Elliot is currently in the lab working on Block Party with cohort Timbaland, but she dips her toes back into the mainstream this week with an appearance on the official remix to Katy Perry’s “Last Friday Night (TGIF).”
The release of this single couldn’t come any sooner for Perry either. Currently, her 2010 release Teenage Dream has had four singles go to number one and a fifth would tie Michael Jackson’s record for most number ones from a single album. While Dream in no way compares to the work of the late king of pop, it’s impossible to deny the catchiness and impact of Perry’s music.
Do you think she deserves to tie the king? Comment below and let us know!
