As much as I want to suckerpunch Robert Rodriguez for making Spy Kids: All the Time in the World in 4D, it has given us diehard movie fans a chance to bug him about more pressing matters, such as the long overdue sequel for Sin City and the continuation of the Machete legacy.
Recently, Rodriguez was out promoting Spy when he was asked about the progress of the two aforementioned projects. Rodriguez responded, “Sin City 2 is going good, we’re just finishing the script for that, we already got the money. We have everything we need so we can just start shooting as soon as we get the pages. And it’s the same thing for Machete 2. We’ve already got the budget, just waiting for the script. As soon as we’re finished writing we get to start the shoot.”
If you didn’t just squeal like a tween girl meeting Bieber, your right to consider yourself a film buff should be taken away immediately. ARE YOU KIDDING ME? Both are ALMOST HERE? Can’t we just go ahead and give Spy Kids: All the Time in the World in 4D a solid $80 million box office and get on to these projects?
Come on Robert, stop milking your children’s franchise for every penny you can (I’m sure those “free” 4D cards aren’t cheap) and just give us what we want. Please?
