Soundwave Revolution Cancelation Petition

Yesterday, Under The Gun reported that the 2011 Soundwave Revolution Festival would be canceled. You can read the statement issued by festival promoter AJ Maddah here. Of course the cancellation caused quite an uproar with fans and paying festival attendees. As a result, a petition has surfaced asking the festival officials to reconsider the cancellation.

The petition reads as follows:

So today, thousands of fans were told that SWR11 wouldn’t go ahead due to one band pulling out. Many are infuriated.

1. We bought tickets months ago based on the original announcement, we were already sold despite the fact there was going to be a second announcement.

2. SW is a major festival, it really is at the top of the Aussie Festival circuit, it really wouldn’t have disappointed anyone if one or more bands dropped out.

3. SW have always been known for their great attitude towards their patrons – it is a highly commendable thing!

4. Many people travel interstate for this, requiring bookings for airfares and hotels in advance – many of which are non-refundable.

5. Many people travel from overseas – same deal as above.

Please. There are so many of us. We are all so upset by this. We wouldn’t care if it had 3 bands or 100…we just love the festival for what it is, the awesome people who run it and what it offers music wise. Please reconsider SWR!

You can sign the online petition here. You can use Facebook to sign. Quick and easy. Support the bands booked to play and the countless disappointed fans.
