Dreamworks drops Eminem’s ‘Southpaw’

Eminem’s return to the big screen has been put on hold, as Dreamworks is no longer backing his movie Southpaw.

Em was slated to star in the flick that was being directed by Antoine Fuqua.

According to Deadline.com, Dreamworks has given the project back to the filmmakers, who are now seeking another backer and theatrical release for the project.

Southpaw was supposed to star Eminem as a welterweight boxer, who fights through personal tragedy, in order to reclaim past glory.

The movie was slated to be Eminem’s first major role since the 2002 hit movie 8 mile.
