Perhaps the tragedies at the Indiana State Fair and Pukkelpop Festival have brought attention to the fact that bad weather at concerts can not only be inconvenient, but can have deadly consequences. With Hurricane Irene taken into consideration, promoters have decided not to take any risks this weekend. As a result, dozens of concerts have been canceled or postponed. Pat Benetar – August 27th and 28th at Busch Gardens in Williamsburg, VA: canceled
Kenny Chesney – Gillette Stadium, Foxboro, NC: Pushed up to August 26th.
Out In The Streets Fest – Brooklyn Fireproof in Brooklyn, NY: canceled.
Charlie Parker Jazz Festival – Marcus Garvey Park in Manhattan, NY: postponed.
Rib Rock Festival – Jones Beach Theater, Wantagh, NY and PNC Bank Arts Center, Holmdel, NJ: canceled.
Jagged Edge – Central Park, New York, NY: rescheduled for September 21st.
Silopanna Music Festival – Crownsville, Maryland: canceled.
