Detox drug found in Amy Winehouse’s system

Amy Winehouse’s father came out and said, on Friday, that a prescription drug used to treat alcohol addiction might have been a contributing factor in his daughters death. Amy passed on July 23 at the age of 27.

While taping the debut episode of Anderson Cooper’s new talk show, set to air Monday, September 12, Mitch Winehouse revealed that Librium had been found in his daughters bloodstream, as well as traces of alcohol. Winehouse believes that his infamous daughter suffered a seizure brought on by alcohol detox, and that “there was nobody there to rescue her,” he stated to AP.
