Stone Temple Pilots have had to postpone the final four dates on their summer 2011 tour due to singer Scott Weiland needing “immediate vocal rest.”

On the bands official facebook page, they explained that Weiland recently consulted with doctos and discovered that his vocal chord likely have scarring and inflammation. More information can be found by clicking through.

“With such a heavy concert schedule and vocal activity we determined that Mr. Weiland could potentially run the risk of a vocal hemmorage or suffer permanent damage hence putting him on complete vocal rest,” says Dr. Sid Khosla, Director of the UC Health Voice Center in Cincinnati.”

The cancelled dates include Cincinnati, Louisville and Council Bluffs, Iowa. A concert scheduled for Concho, OK. has already been rescheduled for Nov. 5.

This cancelation comes almost a year after STP postponed 12 dates on their comeback run, when Weiland delivered a rambling speech onstage at a Houston, Texas show.
