Sometimes growing up isn’t as easy as you’d hoped it would be. Take for instance, Christofer Drew. His musical project, Never Shout Never, has been praised by fans and publications alike for years, but somehow it just isn’t translating to numbers.
Today it was revealed Drew’s latest outing, Never Shout Never’s Time Travel, moved 10,000 units in its’ first week of release. Now I understand that in today’s industry, 10k is 10k, but when you consider his debut (2010’s What Is Love) sold 21k in the same timeframe, things get a little harder to digest.
If you ask me, this is a downright shame. Of his already massive body of work, Time Travel really is the most outstanding piece of work generated by this young talent. From he instrumentation, to the lyrics and overall structure, this release is miles (and we mean miles) beyond the rest of his catalog.
Stop streaming music less than the cost of an actual album and support the talent you love. Drew’s got a wealth of potential left inside, but the numbers are what will ultimately keep Never Shout Never Alive, so go out and SUPPORT!
