Some great stuff has surfaced this week, so you guys are in for a real treat this time around! Excision has lived up to his image and supplied us once again with this year’s free Shambhala mix… Holla! Alright, without further ado, I proudly present to you this weeks bass!

  • SOME NEWS: Gemini Interview

A Bit of interesting info, though, if there aren’t any objections. Dubstep.net managed to get a twitter interview with Gemini. That interview can be found right nyeah. Is it just me, or did that kid definitely name himself after an American Gladiator?

  • FREE MIX DOWNOAD: Excision – Shambhala 2011

First up, Here’s a link to that Shambhala mix. Big ups to Excision for giving us yet another awesome cut of his performance. I have to admit, when I saw him the lights weren’t nearly as redonkulous as they apparently were at Shambhala… I feel jipped. Get your copy here.

  • FREE SONG DOWNLOAD: Chase & Status ft. Delilah – Time (Robokop Remix)

[soundcloud url=”http://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/24421036″]
Banging track! The original is great, and most would agree that it’s difficult to dislike Chase & Status anyway. Robokop definitely has some fun with this… Filthy!

  • FREE MIX DOWNLOAD: DCarls – 2009-2010 Mix

[soundcloud url=”http://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/24400514″]
DCarls throws a few our way, in the format of a ten-minute mini mix available for download. He says he worked on these over a year ago, and he’s planning on re-doing one or more of the tracks. He’s looking for input, so if one of these stands out to you among the others, feel free to let DCarls know what you think! It’s pretty funky/groovy, it’s not terribly heavy, the instruments all work wonderfully together, and the vocal samples give the tracks an immense sense of completion. Pick it up… and… expand your horizons, I don’t know.

  • FREE SONG DOWNLOAD: Naxx – Domination (Original Mix)

[soundcloud url=”http://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/24251507″]
Here’s a tasty electrodub banger care of Naxx, the Malaysian Madman. This is starting to get real quality, Naxx… Real quality. No vocals, dense synths, heavy bass, and a poppy beat. The drums aren’t stellar, but they’re good. It’s a solid choon.

  • FREE MIX DOWNLOAD: DJ Nonames (Foreign Beggars) – 2011 pickNmix

[soundcloud url=”http://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/24235810″]
This is fifty one minutes of pure awesomeness. Get this now. It’s simplistic, minimalistic, groovy, packed full of bass and soul, and most of all: GRIMEY. This makes me want to go for a nice long, extra-careful drive, if you catch my drift.

  • FREE SONG DOWNLOAD: The Noisy Freaks x Blaster – Battle (Original Mix)

[soundcloud url=”http://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/24279110″]
Noisy Freaks and Blaster are back this week, further solidifying their identity with a supremely juicy banger. The production value of this track took shingles with it when it blasted through the roof. This is exactly what we look for in an electrodub banger. If someone asked me what type of music I listen to and I had to answer quickly, I might just play them this song. Well Done. I’ll be on the prowl for more from these players.

  • FREE SONG DOWNLOAD: The Widdler – Lying Girl

[soundcloud url=”http://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/24268999″]
Here’s another perfectly tasty dubstep track. I haven’t heard much from the widdler in the last year or so, so it’s good to see he’s still out there. He sure knows how to keep the dub alive. Grab that download below.

  • FREE SONG DOWNLOAD: AutoLaser – Magenta

[soundcloud url=”http://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/24277952″]
Here’s one lovely piece of filth that just turned up. Magenta feels electrically charged, and highly energetic. The contrast between the rough bass and the zippy higher-end is brilliant and detailed.

  • FREE SONG DOWNLOAD: Skrillex – First Of The Year (Equinox) (Mark Meets Andys Remix)

[soundcloud url=”http://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/24301114″]
This is something. I don’t really know. It’s sort of an anomaly. Give it a listen, but I’m still sort of confused by it to be totally honest with you. It seems like the pieces are there, or at least most of them, but there’s just sort of a disconnectedness about the song that’s killing it. I don’t know, you’re all bassheads. What do you guys think? Also, I hate to be “that guy,” but frankly I don’t know anything about Mark Meets Andys, and I already think it’s a terrible name. Who knows, right?

  • FREE SONG DOWNLOAD: Retrotation – The Moon is Made of Cheese (Electro Dubstep)

[soundcloud url=”http://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/24300725″]
This is a nice track. It’s got sort of a toned-down NiT GRiT feel to it. I definitely wouldn’t call it a banger, but it’s got solid bass, clean elements, and a nice, crispy beat.

  • FREE SONG DOWNLOAD: Debbie Aramide – City Lights (OverHertz Remix)

[soundcloud url=”http://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/24278603″]
Confession: I’ve never heard the original. I like this remix though, it’s punchy and vocal-laden. The beat flows with a highly expressive bass lead, and familiar progressions. Once again, it’s no super-banger, but it’s definitely worth a listen.

Okay, bass-driven friends of mine, that’s what I found for you this week. As always, I hope that your media devices are sufficiently stocked for the next few days. When the bass tap runs dry again this time next week, you’ll know right where to find me.
