Motion City Soundtrack Start New Record Label

Motion City Soundtrack have just unveiled that they are starting their own record label, The Boombox Generation, which will incorporate all of their upcoming album releases. The labels first release will be the upcoming Motion City Soundtrack/Trampled By Turtles 7″ split, which is set to officially release November 21.

The band decided to try their own venture and leave Columbia Records. Motion City plans on taking on other acts as they expand into their own entity.

It seems to be becoming more and more popular for groups to release their own label to release material. It is an advantage considering you don’t have costs to recoup besides to yourself and most of all you have complete control over the content of your music.
