George Tillman Jr., the director whose vision gave us the slightly lackluster film Notorious about rapper Biggie Smalls, has been hired to direct a biopic on influential jazz musician Miles Davis.
The film, which is tentatively titled Miles, will be based on a book by Davis’ son entitled Dark Magus: The Jekyll and Hyde Life of Miles Davis.
According to reports, the first draft of the script is complete, but no details have surfaced as far as shooting and release are concerned. Actor Don Cheadle is also currently developing a film based on Davis, so it looks like we could have yet another battle for box office glory in the coming year(s). Stay tuned to UTG for casting, shooting, and other production details as progress on the flick moves forward.
