Adele and My Chemical Romance are among the artists set to record new versions of Bob Dylan songs for an upcoming album. The four-CD Chimes of Freedom: The Songs of Bob Dylan Honoring 50 Years of Amnesty International is due to go on sale on January 24 with all proceeds going to the human rights organization.
The album will feature 80 artists contributing cover versions of songs from Dylan’s extensive back catalogue, with other names set to appear including Sting, Ke$ha, Elvis Costello, and, er, Miley Cyrus. The great man himself will appear only on title track “Chimes of Freedom,” which will be his original 1964 recording.
