Autopsy Report of GWAR Guitarist Cory Smoot Released

A month ago, Under the Gun Review brought you the news of the untimely death of Cory Smoot, guitarist of costume clad rock band, GWAR. Today, the results of his autopsy have become public by word of the coroner and we have the details.

North Dakota coroner William Masselo, MD released the following statement regarding his death:

“We have finalized the autopsy report and death certificate. I have determined that Cory died from a coronary artery thrombosis brought about by his pre-existing coronary artery disease.”

Following the death of Smoot, GWAR retired his character, Flattus Maximus. They have also set up the Smoot Family Foundation to raise money for Smoot’s wife and unborn child. We ask that, if you have the means, please donate to this family who has lost so much. Make their Christmas a little brighter. There will also be a  benifit show at The Canal Club in Richmond, VA on January 7th featuring Mensrea, Cannabis Corpse, DBX and more. The show will be also be a record release show for Cory’s solo LP When Worlds Collide. All proceeds from the show will go towards the family fund.
