Under The Gun recently sent Staff Photographer Kellie Gannon to cover the No Guts No Glory Tour stop in Cleveland!
December is always a hectic month. Between family time, getting ready for the impending holidays, and the end of the semester (if you’re still in school), this is always a crazy, busy, final month of the year. Two weeks ago, on December 7th, the No Guts No Glory Tour graced Peabody’s in Cleveland, OH & I’m still reminiscing on what may have been one of the most energetic tours to wrap up the year. The Amity Affliction, Letlive, Woe Is Me, Pierce The Veil, and Miss May I rocked the socks off the crowd all night and left a lasting impression to carry us into 2012.
First up was The Amity Affliction, who played four songs and got the crowd amped for the rest of the night. Second was Letlive, who set the bar high for the remaining bands. Letlive opened with their “Le Prologue” intro from their 2010 album Fake History, during which lead vocalist Jason Butler dove into the crowd. Other songs off this album included “Renegade 86″ and Muther” in which Butler displayed an impressive vocal range. After throwing the mic over one of the ceiling pipes and singing with it hanging from the ceiling, as well as hanging from the ceiling himself at one point, he declared to “make yourself aware of where you came from” before launching into powerful hit “Casino Columbus.”
Third onstage was Woe Is Me, who kept the energy alive with hits off their 2010 album release Number[s]. Songs such as “Mannequin Religion” and “Hell, or High Water” kept the crowd on their toes between the frequent mosh pit breaks and crowd surfing. They also did their cover of Katy Perry’s “Last Friday Night” from Punk Goes Pop 4, which was just released November 8th and met with intense crowd approval.
Second to last was Pierce The Veil from San Diego, who surpassed all expectations. They opened with “Yeah Boy and Doll Face” and after a few songs, lead vocalist Vic Fuentes jumped offstage, ran through the crowd, grabbed a wireless guitar, had a fan hold his mic for him, and he sang from the back of the venue during “Bulletproof Love,” then crowd surfed all the way back to the stage. They also covered Bruno Mars “Just The Way You Are” which was also on Punk Goes Pop 4. They ended their set with a surprise rendition of “Picking Up The Pieces,” which was originally with Kyle Lucas ft. STS and Pierce The Veil.
Miss May I, hailing from Troy, Ohio, ended the night with such awe-inspiring intensity. They rocked out amid amazing lights, played hits off their first album as well as their 2010 release Monument, and the moshing and crowd surfing was out of control at times. Lead vocalist Levi Benton invited fans onstage to stage dive and was met with an impressive amount of kids jumping onstage, including some who turned their average stage dive into some impressive acrobatics. Miss May I ended with “Forgive and Forget” then returned to the stage with an encore of “Relentless Chaos.” Look below for all the photos from the amazing, energetic, and wild No Guts No Glory Tour!
