Ohio’s Mixtapes have been the talk of the blogosphere for a little over six months and today, finally, they have a new record label to call home.
Announced just a short while ago on AlternativePress‘ official site, Mixtapes have joined the roster of No Sleep Records. The group is currently finishing their latest full-length in the studio, which currently has an unspecified Spring release, and plan to tour relentlessly throughout the year.
When asked to comment on the development, vocalist/guitarist Ryan Rockwell offered:
“We are really excited to be signing to No Sleep Records and making our first full length, we are currently in the studio and making magic. We are excited to be spreading the lyrics of Cam’ron, good fashion techniques, and also the opportunity to make friends of many races, nationalities, and even different musical taste (maybe). We are recording just over 20 songs and can’t wait to see what makes the album. As for the sound it sounds pretty much what we sound like, although less acoustic.”
Mixtapes released Maps And Companions last year through Animal Style Records. If you have yet to discover how great this young pop punk act is, click here and discover what you have been missing.
