Corey Taylor Reveals Plans For Stone Sour’s Next Album

This past couple years for Corey Taylor have been a wild ride of self-discovery and mid-life chaos but he is still poised to continue his musical career. He recently discussed the future for his band Stone Sour and plans to put out a “double concept album,” with no intention to reveal dates anytime soon. Corey also went into detail about still mourning his best friend, and Slipknot bassist, Paul Gray.

Loudwire spoke to Taylor about his future plans for Stone Sour/Slipknot and can be read by simply looking below. Are you excited for what is next from this great artist?

“It really is a mid-life crisis sort of thing. When you hit your mid-to-late 30s you can keep walking forward and embrace a new stage of your life and really become the man you are going to be or you can stand and stagnate and cling to the almost romantic angst of youth and really stop evolving at this point. It’s really kind of a problem a lot of men have. Actually a lot of women these days are having it too…The songs will, of course, be more ambiguous so everyone can relate to them.”

Discussing the future plans for Slipknot:
“I think [2012] will just be more of a strengthening year for us. [The 2010 death of bassist Paul Gray is] still very fresh for us, even though it’s been a year and a half since his death. It is still something that breaks me down every night. I just know if we try to rush in and make an album that doesn’t feel right, the audience will know. The audience will know that it doesn’t feel right and they’ll know it was forced and they’ll know it isn’t genuine. If anything we have always been as genuine with our audience as possible. That is why I have gone out of my way to say ‘Look, I’m not ready to do it.'”
