DAMMIT: Chuck Norris Whines About Profanity, “Expendables 2” Goes PG-13

All jokes about his crazy toughness aside, Chuck Norris severely underestimates his standing in current pop culture.

Recently, Norris sat down with foreign news website Gazeta to discuss his upcoming role in the highly anticipated action epic Expendables 2. During the interview, Norris let out some information about the upcoming feature that many fans of the original will be heartbroken to learn:

Expendables 2 will be rated PG-13.

This was not always the plan for EX2. In fact, Norris himself is responsible for the change. As he explained in the interview:

“In ‘Expendables 2’, there was a lot of vulgar dialogue in the screenplay. For this reason, many young people wouldn’t be able to watch this. But I don’t play in movies like this. Due to that, I said I wouldn’t be a part of that if the hardcore language is not erased. Producers accepted my conditions and the movie will be classified in the category of PG-13.”

Now some may question why such a decision is that big of a deal, but anyone lucky enough to witness Stallone’s work with the original, or even his final Rambo film, has come to expect (and love) the action legend’s approach to balls-to-the-wall violence. Blood, guts, guns, and explosions, that is what makes these films great and thanks to Chuck, we will get the slightly less-ridiculous version.

Does anyone under the age of seventeen care in the slightest about the presence of Chuck Norris in the new Expendables film? I understand the humor surrounding his legacy is second-to-none, but his relevancy as an action star faded with the 90s and is now tampering with series that needs no outside influence. Call me crazy, but something tells me the men (and boy) of America would gladly take buckets of blood and profane language over “something for the whole family” and the presence of Walker, Texas Ranger any day.
