It has been a few years since The Distillers put out new music or toured, but some recently activity on the band’s social networks has many hoping that will soon change.

Some readers may not know this, but The Distillers have been actively maintaining a Twitter account for quite some time. For the most part, this account does nothing more than reply to Distillers fans caught in the memory of the past, but recently the activity has increased. Not only has the account referenced the possibility of new shows in the future, but last night that account also tweeted a photo of a bass alongside a songbook, leading many to believe something is definitely going on at Distillers HQ.

UTG has reached out for the band to comment, as have other blogs, but so far the group has chosen to remain quiet as to what they may or may not be planning for 2012. We are keeping a close eye on this story and will update you with any new developments, but until then, click past the jump and enjoy a classic Distillers’ track.
