UTG EXCLUSIVE: The Human Abstract MAY Still Be Together

the human abstract

In early January, UTG brought you news that The Human Abstract were no longer a band after bassist Henry Selva mentioned the band’s demise on his Facebook. A few emails from readers and guess what? There is more to this story than meets the eye.

Earlier this week, Human Abstract guitarist Dean Herrera replied to a fan’s question on Formspring regarding whether or not the band would still be active if vocalist Travis Richter had not left the band with the following comment:

as far as im concerned we aren’t broken up, that was Henry going out and spewing the inner workings of the band. We never actually came together and decided anything. I’m still real pissed at him for that. Sure we’re taking time, but that doesn’t mean anything other than that… Taking time.. As far as travis…. who knows… can’t say what might have happened.

This comment drove a couple readers to ask us what is going on with The Human Abstract and now, after speaking with Dean Herrera through email, UTG has the answer. When asking him to clarify the statements made on Formspring regarding the status of The Human Abstract, Herrera offered:

“There is no official anything…. We’ve never come to any definite decisions. All we know for sure is that we are doing other things as of now.”

UTG is currently reaching out to others associated with The Human Abstract for more information.Stay tuned for any further developments.
