UTG PHOTOS: The Hush Sound (2/4/12)

Under The Gun sent photographer, Tori Thomas to Chicago to catch The Hush Sound’s reunion show! After The Hush Sound had been on hiatus for 3 1/2 years, they decided to do a two day reunion weekend at The Bottom Lounge. Tori attended the Saturday show (February 4, 2012) and brought UTG some photos to share!

First on the line-up was Dr. Manhattan. They didn’t do bad and it seemed like the crowd was into them. They put on an entertaining set for being an opening band.

Next up was Chicago natives, Empires. I’ve seen Empires before, but heir performance really blew me away. The last time I saw them was in 2009, and they only played three songs because Sean Van Vleet was ill. They had an incredible set and are an artist people should check out!

Then it came time for the headliners, The Hush Sound. I’ve seen The Hush Sound quite a few times, back when they toured regularly, I would make sure to attend their show in the nearest city. I was extremely excited when I hear THS was going to reunite for a two day event. I feel honored to have seen them perform live even after going on hiatus. They performed great; there were a few mess-ups, but would you expect it to be flawless for after being on hiatus for 3 1/2 years? If they ever reunite for another show, will definitely be attending that!
