We talk about it all the time, but it truly is a rare moment when you discover a band that makes you stop what you are doing and, for at least a moment, really listen to the music they have created. These are the bands that you cannot help sharing with everyone you know, the ones that you “Like” on Facebook out of free will, and are willing to spend an extra $20 to see in the city a bit farther away.

Chicago’s Real Friends are that band.

Three weeks ago, Real Friends quietly released their new EP Everyone That Dragged You Here via iTunes. A short time thereafter, thanks to a few dedicated UTG readers, I was pointed in their direction of their Facebook and found myself quickly falling for the group’s unique brand of pop punk. I sought out the group and am now very excited to present their record to all of you. So without further ado, click past the jump and discover what I and the rest of the UTG staff truly believe may be your new favorite unsigned band.
