Today is, as my internet pen pal that I met on 4chan would say, full of win. In addition to a brilliant Jason Mraz music video, this Friday has blessed us with a brand new clip from John Mayer’s upcoming album Born and Raised. This is the first clip we have heard from John’s new material and I think I speak for all of his fans when I say that what we hear is exciting indeed.

While John started writing this new material in October of 2010, he has had a rough time musically since then. Originally planned for an October 2011 release, Born and Raised was pushed after a September announcement revealing that the singer had granulomas near his vocal cords and that he would need treatment and time to heal. The following month, Mayer had surgery and then set off across the country to take in the sights.

There is no official date set on Born and Raised just yet, but we expect one to be coming along quite soon. In the meantime, fans can sate themselves past the bump where we have the 60 second clip for “Shadow Days.” 

I think what we’ve got here is some Battle Studies mixed with a bit of twang. What do you think? Comments are down there. ↓↓↓
