Young Money heavyweight Tyga brought his wildly successful Careless World Tour to the Wilbur Theater in Boston, MA last night and UTG was there to capture all the action.
It was a near-blizzard when I left my apartment to head downtown on March 1 for the Careless World tour. After months of unusually warm weather, Winter had spent nearly every hour since the dawn of Leap Day dowsing our fair city with snow, wind gusts, and more ice than anyone wanted in their life, but nothing would stop me from finally introducing the UTG world to YMCMB. Following an hour on various forms of public transportation and an extended wait outside doors while various camera crews filmed intoxicated caucasian teens shouting “Rack City bitch” for future tour vlogs, I made my way inside and warmed up with a drink while waiting another hour and fifteen minutes for the show to begin.
Once the lights came down, it took roughly .5 seconds for the atmosphere around the room to change from “it’s cold outside and I’m bored” to “holy shit, it’s time to paaaaarrrrtttttaaayyyyy!” as concert goers raised their glasses high and proceeded to treated the Wilbur like their own personal club. Twist set things off with a set comprised mainly of Don’t Get It Twisted (out March 20) material, which did a great job getting folks hyped for the evening, but even the fast-rising YMCMB rapper could not hold a candle to the rager incited by label mate Tyga. For nearly an hour, yes a full hour of material, Tyga took the stage (generally by himself) and toured audiences through his Careless World.
