After years of rumors and gossip, production is finally underway on Jerry Bruckheimer’s Lone Ranger film and today we get our first look at the leads.

Starring Armie Hammer as Lone Ranger and Johnny Depp as Tonto, the latest adaption of Lone Ranger is scheduled to arrive in theaters in 2013. Details surrounding the film and its plot have been kept under tight wraps, but this morning that changed when Jerry Bruckheimer himself tweeted a photo of the leads along with the message “Tonto and The Lone Ranger ride again.” You can view the image after the jump.

Bloggers will have you believe Lone Ranger is no longer a name that audiences care about, but I have little doubt Bruckheimer will give us plenty of reasons to flood theaters before the film’s release. Stay tuned for more details, images, and eventually clips in the coming months.
