As with every new single that comes our way, we spun the record around the UTG offices and gave everyone a chance to chime in with their thoughts on “Starships.” You can read thoughts and critiques from many UTG staffers below:

“Really killer vocal and guitar tones and a few cool riffs, rad breaks, but not much to be had in terms of songwriting or lyrical content (but what metal bands do these days)? Gang vocal part before the last breakdown sections was awesome. Definitely going to check out the full album.” – Jordan Munson (Twitter)

“Sin City” is not going to change the metal core world, but it does showcase a more developed sound from UABB that fans will welcome with open arms. I cannot listen to this song without thinking of Dead To Fall, one of UABB’s biggest influences, and I think they would be damn proud of this one. The scene needs a skilled band that doesn’t take themselves too seriously and “Sin City” makes a great argument for UABB to be that band.” – James Shotwell (Twitter)

“Sin City” is a really promising track. The melodic bent is particularly impressive; softening the intensity of their sound and giving it some grace. Yet this is dark, rigorous, and uncompromising – a really brutal and visceral listen that slaps you firm in the face.” – Grace Duffy (Twitter)

“This track hits extremely hard with punishing guitars, heavy drumming, and Danny’s demonic screaming style. I have been anticipating this release since the announcement of ‘Red. White. Green.’ and “Sin City” has gone above and beyond my expectations. Get ready for a insane mosh pit-inducing breakdown towards the end of the song, that will leave you wanting more UABB.” – Grant Trimboli (Twitter)

“Despite my normal distaste for a lot of metalcore, this song isn’t that bad. It’s heavy, it’s fast, and doesn’t really compromise. The breakdown in this song is sure to induce hysteria at shows, so i’d be interested to see how it translates.” – Tyler Osborne (Twitter)

“While some of the lyrics in this track are not the most original, there is a genuine uniqueness that you can associate with UABB. It’s heavy, has some great vocals and the very metal breakdown is certainly appreciated. If they put the same effort in the other tracks on the record this will be the best for them to date.” – Kriston McConnell (Twitter)
