Jet, the band most will remember for the hit “Are You Gonna Be My Girl,” have broken up.

Giving their fans a formal farewell, just posted the following message on their official website:

After many successful years of writing, recording and touring we wish to announce our discontinuation as a group. From the many pubs, theatres, stadiums and festivals all across the world it was the fans that made our amazing story possible and we wish to thank them all. Thank you, and goodnight.

“Are You Gonna Be My Girl” is a timeless top 40 hit, but Jet have many great songs in their cannon. If you have a chance, give their discography a listen to discover some honest rock and roll. For now, click past the jump and enjoy our personal favorite, “Cold Hard Bitch.”
