REST IN PEACE: Dick Clark (1929-2012)

TMZ is reporting that entertainment legend Dick Clark has passed away at the age of 82.

From the gossip site’s original story:

Clark’s rep tells TMZ, the TV icon had been in St. John’s hospital in L.A. after undergoing an outpatient procedure last night. Clark suffered the “massive” heart attack following the procedure. Attempts to resuscitate him were unsuccessful.

Nearly every person with access to television at some point in the last thirty years has had their life at least mildly impacted by the presence of Dick Clark. He hosted New Year’s Eve, covered major events, hosted the forever timeless series American Bandstand, and appeared in countless other shows, specials, etc.

Rest in peace, Dick. You will be missed.
