The Killers’ Saxophonist Commits Suicide

It’s a sad day for the family, friends, and fans of Thomas Marth, touring and recording saxophonist for alternative rock band The Killers. The Hollywood Reporter is reporting that the musician was found dead in his Las Vegas home from an apparent suicide.Marth was 33.

Marth had no wife or children of his own. Instead, the player was dedicated to his work in the studio and on the road.  You can hear Marth’s work on the group’s albums Sam’s Town and Day & Age.

The Killers released a short statement via the Las Vegas Weekly stating, “Last night we lost our friend Thomas Marth. Our prayers are with his family. There’s a light missing in Las Vegas tonight. Travel well, Tommy.”

We’d like to send our condolences to the musician’s family in this difficult time.
