Devonté Hynes (Lightspeed Champion, Test Icicles) has released a new music video for his project, Blood Orange. The video is for the song “Champagne Coast” off his 2011 effort Coastal Grooves.

Bringing a 1990s sound akin to Prince or The Artist Formerly Known As, the campy video features an array of women dancing to the song in a very low-budget, green-screened house. Hynes makes his appearances as well. I’m excited about this not only because Hynes and myself share the same birthday, but because the song/video gives me a pleasant sense of nostalgia.
