UTG PREMIERE: Arrows Over Athens – “Atlas”

What better way to kickoff a new week than by discovering a great up and coming band? Under The Gun Review could not be more excited to be hosting the world premiere of “Atlas,” the lead single (and title track) off Arrows Over Athens‘ forthcoming EP (due out June 5). Here’s what the band had to say about the track:

“We recorded “Atlas” at Zing Studios in Westfield MA, and we’re all stoked on how it came out. The guys down there are awesome, and Jim is one hell of an engineer. “Atlas” is a song about two people who are unable to communicate with each other. The male voice portrays someone who is having troubles, and is losing hope for himself. The female voice shows us another person who is trying to help the male but can’t seem to understand exactly what he is going through or what it is she wants him to do. All in all it’s a song about compassion, and the human need for communication and understanding.”

You can stream “Atlas” after the jump. If you would like to hear more from Arrows Over Athens, you can click here and download their debut EP for FREE!

Sounds pretty generic…just another band for labels to climb all over because they’re pretty much playing it safe.

how is it generic? what pop punkish band have you heard with guy/girl vocals like that? These guys are far from the genric pop punk in my opinion. and the notes they are hitting…fucking insane!

  3. Dave says:

Saw them live at a really small venue and they were the only good band there. But this single blows that performance away. They sound really good  here. Hope they keep it up, when they’re finally playing a sold out show at the garden, I hope I have tickets.

I’ve always strayed away from female vocalists, but after seeing them play… DAMN dude. These guys are awesome and put on one hell of a show. Definitely go see them if you get a chance! They’re doing a tour in June!

These fellas put on a really great and energetic live performance. They’re extremely tight as a band and deserve success
